Man charged with attacking Liverpool pensioner

A 32-year-old man has been charged over an attack on an elderly man in Liverpool, in which a teenager intervened.

The man from Kensington was charged with grievous bodily harm after the attack by two men and a woman on the corner of Duke Street and Berry Street.

A 15-year-old boy was slashed across the face with a drinks can after going to the pensioner's aid.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses.
