Man found in Liverpool alley had fatal head injuries

An 18-year-old man who died after a street disturbance in Liverpool suffered fatal head injuries, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

James McVey, from Fazakerley, was found injured in an alley in Walton after a disturbance outside Dunnys Club in Stalmine Road early on Saturday.

Two youths aged 15 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

The 15-year-old has been released on police bail, while the 16-year-old is still being questioned.

Merseyside Police want to speak to taxi drivers who were near Rice Lane and Stalmine Road.

Detectives said they were particularly keen to hear from the driver of a silver private hire car who was in the area at the time.

The emergency services were called shortly after midnight when members of the public reported a disturbance.

Mr McVey was taken to Fazakerley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
