Teenager found stabbed in chest on Liverpool street

An 18-year-old man has been stabbed in the chest on a Liverpool street.

The emergency services were called to Yelverton Road, Clubmoor, just before 2030 BST on Tuesday and found the teenager wounded on the street.

He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery overnight and remained in a critical condition.

A 16-year-old youth from Kensington and an 18-year-old man from Anfield who had been arrested on suspicion of assault have now been bailed.

The scene was cordoned off and officers carried out house-to-house inquiries.
