Second arrest over car crash fire death in Liverpool

A second man has been arrested after a man died when the car he was travelling in crashed into a lamppost and caught fire in Liverpool.

Police saw a silver S-Type Jaguar being driven at high speed in Scotland Road at about 0215 BST on Saturday, before it crashed in Stanley Road.

The 19-year-old driver was pulled from the car but a passenger died.

The driver was arrested at the scene. Police arrested a second 19-year-old man on Monday.

Both were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
