Liverpool crash victim 'missed beyond words'

A man who died after being knocked over in Liverpool has been described as a "funny and voracious" character.

Daniel Ayers, 42, died in hospital after being hit in Prescot Road, Old Swan at about 1340 BST on Sunday.

His family said: "Daniel is already missed beyond words. He was a unique and brilliant guitarist, a fine raconteur and loved the countryside."

Anyone who saw a gold or silver Mercedes before the collision is asked to contact police.

The British Conservation Trust volunteer "challenged any injustice he saw", his family added.
