Published
A serving Merseyside Police officer has been arrested following allegations he has committed sex crimes.
A force spokeswoman said the 42-year-old from Wirral was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of offences under the Sexual Offences Act.
He was questioned by detectives before being released later the same day on police bail pending further inquiries.
The officer has been suspended while the allegations are investigated, the force said.
