Four stuck on Hilbre Island walk rescued by lifeboat

Published
Four people had to be rescued after they became stranded while walking to Hilbre Island off the Wirral coastline.
A spokesman for Liverpool Coastguard said the adults were walking towards the island on Saturday morning when the tide came in quickly.
They took refuge on Little Eye and called for help. The West Kirby lifeboat brought them back to shore.
The four escaped with no injuries and went home soon after the incident, which took place at about 0950 GMT.
