A 24-year-old has been charged with manslaughter after a man was attacked in Liverpool city centre more than three years ago.

Anthony Clarke, 45, died three days after being found unconscious near McDonald's on Paradise Street on 25 November 2007.

He had been out to celebrate his wife's birthday when he was punched.

Merseyside Police said the man, from Fairfield, would appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on 11 March.

Mr Clarke, who was from Anfield, was described by his wife Janet as a "devoted father and grandfather".
