Firefighters save man from Brunswick dock mud


A man had to be lifted to safety after falling up to 50ft (15m) from a dock wall in Liverpool.

Emergency services were called at about 0740 BST and found the 29-year-old in the mud flats near to Brunswick Dock.

Firefighters and paramedics were lowered by rope to the man before using a basket stretcher to lift him to safety.

He was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital with back and head injuries.

A fire service spokeswoman said it is not known how long the man had been in the dock.
