Man, 81, held in Liverpool guns and drugs raids

An 81-year-old man has been arrested by police in Liverpool after raids uncovered four guns, ammunition and items relating to drugs.

Merseyside Police, working with officers from West Yorkshire, raided two homes in Kensington on Thursday.

The 81-year-old and a 46-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.

A 33-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of firearms and drugs offences. All will be questioned later.

Det Ch Supt Tony Doherty said: "We work closely with our partners in other forces across the UK, to drive guns and criminality off our streets.

"Geographical boundaries will not prevent officers from seeking out offenders and putting them before the courts."
