Fourth murder charge over Aigburth gun death

A fourth man has been charged over the fatal shooting of a club doorman outside a pub in Liverpool.

Bahman Faraji, 44, was shot in the head outside the Belgrave pub in Aigburth on 24 February.

Simon Smart, 32, of Kylemore Way in Halewood, is charged with murder and is due before magistrates on Saturday.

Former Brookside actor Brian Regan, 53, of St Mary's Road in Garston, and two other men have been previously charged with murder.

He, along with his co-accused Edward Heffey, 40, of Beloe Street, Dingle, and Lee Dodson, 42, of Logfield Drive, Garston, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday.

Mr Regan is also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The three men are due to re-appear at the court on 8 July.
