Twenty arrested in Sefton drugs raids
Twenty people have been arrested in raids targeting drug dealers on Merseyside.
About 150 officers searched houses in Bootle, Litherland, Ainsdale and Southport on Thursday.
Police also seized thousands of pounds in cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act from a house in Moss Lane, Litherland.
In Bootle, a Taser device was seized at a house in Marsh Lane and police uncovered cannabis plants in a property in Dale Acre Drive.
Det Ch Insp Andy Williams said: "These arrests mean that 20 people we believe are involved in the supply of Class A drugs have been taken off the streets.
"Drugs such as heroin and cocaine damage communities by fuelling crime, sparking violence and breaking up families.
"By taking such a large number of key people out of what we believe is an organised network of drug dealers, we have dealt them a real blow on behalf of the communities that suffer from their criminal activities."
