Two men arrested over armed raids on Merseyside

Two men have been arrested by police investigating a series of armed raids across Merseyside.

Several pubs, off-licences and newsagents were raided on Sunday and Monday night in West Derby, Bootle, Tuebrook and Walton.

The men, aged 45 and 36 and from Walton, are being questioned on suspicion of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.

Merseyside Police said the men would be interviewed by detectives later.
