Cammell Laird to be prosecuted over worker's death

Ship building firm Cammell Laird is to be prosecuted over the death of a worker who became trapped while driving a forklift truck.

Robert Dunroe, 62, was operating the truck at the firm's Birkenhead site in August 2010 when he was crushed against a lift beam on a crane.

Cammell Laird has been charged with breaching section two of the Health and Safety Act 1974.

The case is due to be heard at Wirral Magistrates' Court on 2 February.
