Seaforth docks chemical spill: Ten people taken to hospital

Ten people have been taken to hospital following a chemical spillage at docks on Merseyside.

The incident happened at about 14:40 GMT at the Royal Seaforth Container Base near Crosby. Three ambulances attended after people fell ill from inhaling chemical fumes.

Merseyside Fire Service said it had sent two hazardous materials units.

It is working with the port authority to use dry sand to contain and absorb the spill.
