Two men arrested after Rainhill road death

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after an accident in Merseyside.

A Volvo S60, a Volvo S40 and a Ford Fiesta were in collision on St James Road, Rainhill, at 13:50 BST on Thursday, police said.

The driver of one of the cars, a 77-year-old local woman, was taken to hospital where she later died.

A 21-year-old man from Dentons Green and a 20-year-old man from Rainhill have been bailed.

Police said four other people were treated at hospital, all with non-life threatening injuries.
