Bus hits shelter in Queen Square, Liverpool

A bus has crashed into a bus shelter in Liverpool city centre, injuring the driver.

It happened at about 11:50 BST at the Queen Square Bus Station in Roe Street.

A police spokesman said the driver is being assessed in hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be serious. There were no other casualties.

The bus station was closed for a time, but has now reopened, and the bus has been removed from the crash scene.
