16-year-old in critical condition after Crosby attack

A 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after an attack in Crosby in which his bike was taken.

The teenager suffered serious head injuries during the attack on Coronation Road at 03:45BST on Sunday.

Police were called to the scene and paramedics took the victim to hospital by ambulance.

Officers want to speak to two males that were seen in the area at the time. The men are described as being in their mid-twenties and casually dressed.

Det Insp David Keegan, said: "A youth has been left in a serious condition and we urge anyone who saw what happened to get in touch with us.

"The victim had been riding a distinctive new Reebok bicycle prior to being found. It would appear that during the assault this bike was taken. Anyone who may has seen, found or even been offered this bike is urged to contact me.

"I would also ask that anyone in the Crosby or Waterloo areas that may have seen a bike being ridden or pushed around this time to contact me as they may have information vital to this investigation."
