Teenager arrested over 'targeted' Stockbridge Village shooting

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a "targeted" shooting of two men on Merseyside.

Officers were called to park land off Cremorne Hey, Stockbridge Village, at 18:00 BST on Tuesday after receiving reports of shootings.

A 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were found with injuries. They both remain in hospital.

The arrested 17-year-old from West Derby remains in police custody.

A police spokesman said the 18-year-old, who had injuries to his back and legs, was in a "critical" condition.

He said the 23-year-old, who had injuries to his leg and foot, was in a "serious but stable" condition.

He added that police believed the pair has been victims of a "targeted" attack, which was unrelated to other recent firearms incidents.
