Man rescued from Liverpool's Queen's Dock dies

A man died and another is in hospital after they were pulled from Liverpool's Queen's Dock.

The men, aged 56 and 28, were rescued by emergency services from the dock on the River Mersey in the Port of Liverpool at 16:30 GMT on Monday.

They were taken to hospital but the older man later died. Police said his death was being treated as unexplained.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place later. The 28-year-old remains in a stable condition.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is being urged to contact police.
