Woman struck by car in Warrington dies

A pedestrian has been knocked down and killed in Warrington.

Donna Davies, 41, was walking on Lovely Lane when she was struck by an Audi A4, which left the road near the railway bridge, at about 18:50 BST on Thursday.

The driver, a 38-year-old man, was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital for treatment.

Two boys, aged four and eight, who were passengers in the car, were taken to Alder Hey Hospital where they are said to be in a stable condition.

Cheshire police said Mrs Davies has lived in the Warrington area all her life.

She leaves behind her husband Paul and four children, aged 10, 13, 16 and 17.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being urged to contact Cheshire police.
