New Brighton promenade death: Woman bailed by police

A 37-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in New Brighton has been bailed.

Mark Reissing, 48, from Wallasey, was found dead on Egremont Promenade at 05:50 BST on Tuesday.

A post-mortem examination found he died of multiple injuries.

A man, 41, arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in custody. A statement from Mr Reissing's family said "our brother Mark was brutally murdered".

His body was then "callously dumped in a side alley near to Egremont Promenade, where he died of his injuries".

The statement added: "Nobody's dad, son, brother or uncle deserves such a horrific death."
