John Wilcock death: Four boys arrested after bike crash
A man who died after he was hit by a rented multi-seat bicycle has been named by police.
John Stuart Wilcock, 65, was struck as he walked his dogs on New Brighton promenade on 22 July.
Police said he was treated and discharged from Arrowe Park Hospital, but his condition deteriorated and he died six days later.
Four boys, two aged 15, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
On Thursday they were released on bail pending further inquiries.
Mr Wilcock, a retired marine engineer and company director, had been receiving treatment for cancer at the time of the crash, police said.
He was married with three sons and two grandchildren.
The outcome of a post-mortem examination carried out on Tuesday was withheld by the pathologist pending further test results.
