The family of a 28-year-old man who died in a fatal stabbing have paid tribute to their "beautiful, beautiful boy".

Stephen Bennett died after he was found with knife wounds at a house in Snowdon Lane, Liverpool, on Sunday.

John Dyer, 25, of St Albans Court, Vauxhall, has been remanded in custody charged with his murder.

Mr Bennett's family described him as "one of the nicest lads you'll ever meet".

'Taken too soon'

In a statement, they said: "He was one of the few true blues. He always had a smile on his face even more so when Everton won.

"He still had his whole life ahead of him. He was taken away from us too soon.

"You are loved by all your family and friends and we will all miss you now and forever."

Mr Dyer appeared before Liverpool magistrates earlier and will appear at the city's Crown Court on Thursday.
