The son of a Toxteth couple found stabbed to death has appeared in court charged with their murders.

Paul Brown, 73, and Dorothy Brown, 66, were found at an address on Huskisson Street, in Toxteth, on 19 September.

Timothy Brown, 46, was remanded into custody for treatment at Ashworth Hospital, Maghull by a magistrate sitting at Liverpool Crown Court.

Mr Brown, of Devonshire Road, Toxteth, is due to appear at the same court on 9 January for a plea hearing.

Post-mortem examinations revealed the couple both died as a result of multiple stab wounds.
