Train fight forces Liverpool to Warrington cancellation

A train between Liverpool and Warrington was cancelled after a fight between passengers broke out, transport police said.

Officers were called to Hough Green station, Widnes at 06:50 BST after the disturbance between a group of men.

Northern Rail confirmed the conductor was left shaken by the incident and felt unable to work on the return service, leading to its cancellation.

Cheshire Police said no arrests were made.
