Murder arrest after body found in Everton car fire

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found inside a burnt out car.

The body of man was found by firefighters who were called to a car fire in Whitehaven Road, Everton, Liverpool on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish the cause of his death.

A 31-year-old man being questioned by police. A woman, aged 31, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Forensic examinations of the scene where the car was found shortly after 23:10 BST are being carried out.

Investigation scenes have also been established in areas of Bootle and Wavertree.
