Men jailed for 'heart cut' robbery in Norwich

Two men from Norwich have been given custodial sentences for taking part in a robbery in which a man was told his "heart would be cut out".

Alistair Meeke was threatened with a knife and robbed of £142 at his home in March.

Byron Turner, 25, of Recreation Road, was jailed for four and a half years and Shane Collier, 20, of Walpole Gardens, detained for two years.

The pair admitted robbery at Norwich Crown Court.

Phone stolen

The court heard Turner threatened Mr Meeke and forced a spoon in his mouth.

Mr Meeke did not know the three people, who called at his Norwich home late at night, pushed their way inside and began drinking beer from a shopping bag, the court heard.

A 17-year-old girl, who cannot be named because of her age, was given a supervision order for two years and a curfew for three months.

She admitted the theft of a mobile phone during the incident.
