A man has died and a woman was left injured in a shooting in Norfolk.

Police were called to a property in Oak Street at Feltwell, near Thetford, shortly after 1115 BST.

Officers found the woman with a head injury. She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and is in a non-life threatening condition.

The body of a man, who police believe to be the gunman, was found nearby. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesman said: "It's believed that the people involved in this incident were known to each other and there is no threat to the wider community."

The nearby surgery was closed and patients kept inside while police investigated the area.

After about an hour police called the surgery and asked for a GP and nurse to offer medical assistance, practice manager Sharon Wilson said:

"Sadly we were unable to help the person who our staff were directed to.

"This has been a distressing and traumatic morning for our staff and the community of Feltwell," she said.
