Man seriously injured in Norwich street attack

An 18-year-old man has been seriously injured in an attack on a street in Norwich.

The victim was assaulted in Thorpe Road, near the railway station, at about 2330 BST on Thursday.

He has been taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where his condition was said by police to be serious but stable.

The road was sealed off while crime scene officers examined the area, the spokesman added.

It is believed a number of people were in the area when the incident happened and police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
