Lotus may build cars outside UK

The next generation of Lotus cars may not be built in Norfolk, it has been revealed.

At the Paris Motor Show, Lotus, which has a major factory and base at Hethel in Norfolk, unveiled five new models.

The vehicles include the Esprit, Elan, Elise 2015, Elite and Eterne and range in price from £30,000 to £130,000.

The company said it hoped to build the cars at Hethel, but due to difficulties in getting government loans it might have to produce some abroad.
