Fire rages in thatched roof of Garboldisham cottages

Fire crews from across Norfolk have been fighting a fire at a property in the south of the county.

The fire broke out on Thursday evening in the thatched roof of a pair of cottages in The Street, Garboldisham, between Diss and Thetford.

A fire and rescue service spokeswoman said 12 pumps were sent to the scene, some from as far away as Fakenham in North Norfolk, to fight the blaze.

She said firefighters were tackling the flames from the inside and outside.
