Icy conditions affect travel and close Norfolk schools

Published

A severe frost and widespread ice that formed overnight has affected travel and closed schools in Norfolk.

Motorists were warned to take care on untreated roads because of the icy conditions, and Norwich Airport was closed until about 0800 GMT.

Several schools have been closed due to thick ice, snow, and treacherous road conditions.

The College of West Anglia at King's Lynn is shut to students due to heating problems, though staff are expected in.
