Norfolk and Waveney health trusts to share chief

Two health trusts covering Norfolk and north Suffolk are to share one chief executive to improve efficiency.

NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney (GYW) said it will join NHS Norfolk to form a primary care trust cluster.

Andrew Morgan, chief executive of NHS Norfolk, will head both organisations and over the next few months will form a single team of executive directors.

Each trust will remain as statutory bodies with its own financial allocation, NHS (GYW) added.

The decision has been agreed by NHS East of England following consultation with the trusts and the new emerging GP consortia in the two counties, it said.
