A Tornado squadron based at RAF Marham in Norfolk is to have a final fly-past before being grounded due to government cuts.

The XIII Squadron is expected to fly over large crowds at the west Norfolk base at 1313 BST on Friday.

During the morning the jets are scheduled pass over their former bases at RAF Honington and Wyton, based in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

The squadron will be officially disbanded on 1 June 2011.

Tornados from the base are currently involved in action over Libya, while 31 Squadron is due to take over from planes at RAF Lossiemouth later in the summer in Afghanistan.

Liam Fox, the Defence Secretary, is due to make a full decision on the future of RAF Marham by 19 July.
