An MP is calling on residents in West Norfolk to turn out in support of a special parade being staged by staff from the Tornado base at RAF Marham.

Men and women from the base will exercise their freedom of King's Lynn with a parade on Wednesday, 22 June.

South West Norfolk MP Elizabeth Truss said support for this parade would show what RAF Marham means to local people.

Defence Secretary Liam Fox is due to make a full decision on the future of RAF Marham by 19 July.

The XIII Tornado Squadron previously based at RAF Marham will be officially disbanded on 1 June 2011.

Tornados from the base are currently involved in action over Libya.
