Runner dies after collapse at Norwich Half Marathon

A 25-year-old trainee teacher has died after being taken ill during the Norwich Half Marathon.

Phillip Goillau, from Dereham, collapsed during the 13-mile race on Sunday afternoon.

He was treated by medical staff at the scene and taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital where he died on Sunday night.

Candles were lit on Monday at Notre Dame High School in the city, where Mr Goillau worked.

Race organisers said their thoughts were with Mr Goillau's family and friends.
