Driver arrested over fatal crash in Norfolk

A driver has been arrested after a motorcyclist died in a crash on the A47 in Norfolk.

A 41-year-old man, who was from the King's Lynn area, was riding a yellow motorbike when it collided with a black Ford Focus. He died of his injuries.

The crash happened at Wendling, between Dereham and Swaffham, at 20:30 BST on Thursday.

A man, 61, from the Dereham area, was driving the Focus. He has been bailed. Witnesses are asked to contact police.

The road was closed for about three hours.

Police said the Ford Focus was travelling towards Dereham and was turning right off the A47 at Main Road, which leads to Greenbanks Hotel.

The motorcycle was travelling along the A47 in the opposite direction.

Officers said they want to hear from the driver of a small car, believed to be red, which was heading towards Swaffham when it was overtaken on the dual carriageway near Dereham.
