Divers discover man's body in car

The body of a man has been discovered in a car submerged in water in Norfolk.

Police believe it to be Charles Watson, 25, from Henstead, Suffolk, who has been missing since 02:30 BST on Monday after a stag night in Great Yarmouth.

Officers searching for Mr Watson discovered the car in the New Cut, near St Olaves, in Norfolk, on Thursday night and police divers found the body.

Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place next week, police said.

Mr Watson, known as Sam, was due to stay with a friend in Great Yarmouth on Sunday evening but contacted him at about 02:15 BST on Monday to say he was not going to stay, police said.

He was reported missing on Tuesday after he failed to contact family, friends or turn up for work.
