A Norfolk charity has bought a historic former fire station in the centre of Norwich.

The Lind Trust, run by businessman Graham Dacre, said it had bought the vacant 1930s building, but had not yet decided what it would be used for.

The Grade II-listed building was the main home of the fire service in the city until it moved to Carrow fire station last year.

The station was put on the market for £650,000.

There is currently planning permission for 14 flats, including retail and office space.

The Lind Trust set up the £12m Open youth venue on Bank Plain, Norwich, in 2009.
