Snetterton vintage car festival: Man killed in crash
A man has died after his vintage car crashed into barriers at a race circuit in Norfolk.
Stephen Jewell, 63, was in a 1924 Bugatti T35B when it crashed at Snetterton Circuit on Sunday, the Motor Sports Association (MSA) said.
The national governing body said he was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after the accident, but later died of his injuries.
The Health and Safety Executive said it had begun an investigation.
The crash happened during practice for the Seaman Memorial Trophies race meeting organised by the Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC).
The MSA said it, along with the VSCC and MotorSport Vision - the circuit's owners - "extend their deepest sympathies to Mr Jewell's family and friends".
The chief executive of the VSCC, Mike Stripe, said: "Stephen was an experienced competitor in many disciplines and well known within the motorsport community.
"The club offers its sincere condolences to all of Stephen's family and friends following this tragic incident."
