A woman whose body was found following a fire at a house in Norfolk had been killed before the blaze was started, police have said.

The woman, believed to be in her mid-30s, was found on the ground floor of the house in Admiralty Road, Great Yarmouth, on Sunday.

The body of her partner was found upstairs where the fire started. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Their names have not yet been released.

Det Insp Andy Guy said: "All the available evidence to extensive investigations indicate the female victim was killed prior to the fire.

"I can confirm we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this inquiry as I am convinced that this was a domestic incident involving the couple who lived at the property."

The result of a post-mortem examination is expected later.
