Northamptonshire community building work finished
A £400,000 scheme which turned a derelict Northamptonshire farm building into a hostel has finished.
Work on Upton Lodge Farm House in Northampton started in February and gave young people training in trades including carpentry and surveying.
Now the building is open it will be run by the YMCA and offer up to 12 people at a time temporary accommodation, support and advice.
The YMCA said they were excited about starting "transforming" lives.
The scheme was funded by West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The HCA own the building and surrounding land.
Major development has been planned for the Upton Lodge area, including 1,700 new homes and significant commercial development.
