Cyclist, 89, in fatal crash in Essex named

An elderly cyclist who died in hospital after being seriously hurt in a collision with a lorry in Essex was an 89-year-old woman, police have said.
Vera Chaplin, of Kirby Cross, was riding along Frinton Road in the village on Monday when the collision happened near Freituna Road.
She was taken to hospital with life-threatening head injuries and died a few hours later.
A man arrested on suspicion of careless driving has been bailed until October.
