The owner of two Staffordshire bull terriers which attacked a 74-year-old man in Northampton has been traced.

The victim was walking his own dog in Brunswick Walk on Friday when the dogs attacked his pet and, as he bent down to pick it up, he was also attacked.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The victim was treated for wounds to his hands and his dog remains at a veterinary surgery. The Staffordshire bull terriers were taken to kennels.
