Pub cash stolen in armed robbery in Northamptonshire

A pub landlord and his wife were threatened at gunpoint and then locked in an office during an armed robbery at their business in Northamptonshire.

Two masked men forced the couple to open a safe at the Brampton Halt in Pitsford Road, Chapel Brampton, near Northampton, early on Monday.

They were trapped while the men stole a substantial amount of cash, police said.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact officers.

One of the men is believed to be in his late 20s, 5ft 11in (1.8m) tall, of average build.

The other man is thought to be in his mid-30s, 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall and stocky.

They raided the pub at some point between 0100 BST and 0130 BST, police said.
