Teenage passenger killed in crash in Northamptonshire

A 17-year-old car passenger died in a crash in a Northamptonshire village.

The Toyota Corolla car hit fencing and a hedge between Watford and West Haddon at about 2300 BST on Tuesday.

The boy, who lived in Crick, was taken to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry, where he died.

A 17-year-old boy from the Market Harborough area, who was driving the car, was taken to Northampton General Hospital with minor injuries.

The Toyota was being closely followed by a Volkswagen Golf at the time of the collision, police said.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or for anyone who saw these vehicles together in the West Haddon area before the collision, to come forward.

The cars had travelled from Long Buckby to Watford on a gated road and then on towards West Haddon.
