Council's £100m PFI estates bid for Northampton

A £100m bid to transform homes and neighbourhoods in parts of Northampton is to go before a special council meeting.

The private finance initiative bid, which brings together private money to fund public projects, aims to improve Eastfield and Thorplands in the town.

The business case for the scheme will go before Northampton Borough Council on 10 November.

Copies of the council report on the scheme are on the authority's website.

A council review at the end of last year found Thorplands is an area seen as in relative need and, along with Eastfield, ranked lowest in terms of popularity.

It also scores poorly for the condition of council homes.
