Man arrested over raid at Northampton jewellers

Police investigating a raid on a jewellers in Northamptonshire have arrested a man.

A gang forced their way into the shop in Abington Square, Northampton, early on Thursday 16 December and assaulted two staff members.

They smashed display cases and stole an "unknown amount of jewellery" before making off in a vehicle.

The 32-year-old man, who police said was not local, was questioned and later released on bail.
