A taser gun was used when a man suspected of a burglary at a jewellery shop was arrested in Northamptonshire.
Police were called after a report of a man breaking into the jewellers in High Street, Thrapston, at 0230 GMT.
A front window of the store had been smashed and a man was seen running off with a number of valuable items.
He was chased into an alleyway where he threw several of the items at an officer in an attempt to escape and a taser gun was then used.
He was arrested and taken into custody at Corby police station.
